We had a small group on this chilly night, a bowl of petite Lady Apples -- oldest known heirloom apple variety -- that were gifts from Reed Valley Orchard , where they grow the apples but do not have enough of them to sell. Apples almost seemed to be a theme for this Supper, showing up in a couple of savory dishes and gracing one of the surprisingly large array of desserts. Interesting, and delicious. We had: Mac & Cheese, Gruyere, White Cheddar Split Peas: Salt, cayenne, Marmite, diced onion (raw), sour cream, half & half Sausage and Cabbage Chleb - Czech Peasant Bread Fresh Lady Apples, a gift from Reed Valley Orchard .
